I'm one of the librarians at the university looking after subjects in the School of Art, Design and Architecture and the School of Applied Sciences.
I use IT daily - usually in the form of searching bibliographic databases like the
library catalogue, but also teach students how to explore our resources to find good quality information for their studies.
I frequently come across students who are baffled and frustrated by search technology - particularly when they are unfamiliar with the concepts of databases and the structure of information.
I trained as a graphic designer before training as a librarian, so I enjoy anything to do with information and how it's presented.

I've changed the strap line to 'Hidden Talents Exchange' and added a required profile question of 'Which of your talents would you most like to share with your colleagues at the University?' - all new members will be presented with this question and would have to type in an answer to proceed with registration - do feel free to edit it if you want to...
I think the unpublished Gabcast is mine! I think I hung up too soon, so please do publish it. I'll try it again if I have anything else to say...
I think this could be great if we can get a wider membership...
Thanks for joining : ) Not sure whether anything will come of it but it will be interesting to see how it goes...
